SUFFOLK, Va. — A man has died after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning in Suffolk, and police say the driver has been charged with several offenses, including murder.
Suffolk police said they were called to the intersection of Kissimmee Avenue and Factory Street around 10:40 Thursday morning after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck.
When they arrived, they found a man in the roadway, and he was taken to the hospital. He succumbed to his injuries once there, police said. He was identified as Steaven Ray Hamlin, 66, of Suffolk.
Police said Michael Domonique Madison, 36, of Suffolk, was the driver, and was charged with multiple offenses including second-degree murder, felony hit and run and felony assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.
