WASHINGTON — Ohio Republican U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno found himself in the middle of a heated hearing Wednesday after he admitted to collecting a number of vehicle identification numbers connected to his Democratic colleagues.
The revelation came during meeting of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where senators questioned a number of President Trump's nominees to the U.S. Department of Transportation. While speaking with Ryan McCormack — who is being considered for assistant secretary of transportation for aviation and international affairs — Moreno brought up the subject of safety features on newer automobiles, which he says are hard for his constituents to obtain because of high costs.
