SEATTLE, Wash. - The newest Seattle professional sports team has their name.

Seattle PWHL is now the Seattle Torrent, debuting their new name and branding just a couple of weeks before they begin their first season in the Professional Women's Hockey League.

Seattle and Vancouver both enter the PWHL as expansion sides this fall, with the latter now named the Vancouver Goldeyes.

Seattle is now one of four American markets with both an NHL and PWHL team, including Newark, Minneapolis, and Boston.

The Torrent begin their season at the Goldeyes on November 21, and play their first home game at Climate Pledge Arena on November 28 against Minnesota.
