(First InMaricopa) The field for Maricopa City Council continues to grow, now up to six people who’ve declared or filed to run.

The latest to enter is Chrystal Allen-O’Jon , co-founder of the Black Maricopa Chamber of Commerce . She filed her official paperwork Friday, becoming the fourth confirmed candidate.

This will be O’Jon’s second bid for a council seat. She ran in 2024 against incumbents Eric Goettl and Bob Marsh , as well as challenger Le’On Willis . She earned 14% of the vote .

“I’m honored and excited to serve the Maricopa community,” O’Jon told InMaricopa . “Service to others is the rent we pay for our time on this earth, and I take that calling to heart. As a lifelong advocate for human rights, I intend to lead with compassion, integrity and inclusiveness.”
