Merrimack Police said they located a person Thursday who could be a potential witness to the Oct. 31 shooting death of Jillian Collins in Concord.

Collins, a 37-year-old Concord resident, was found dead near a homeless encampment in east Concord near the Pembroke town line. The investigation into her death is ongoing.

Merrimack Police posted on Facebook around 3:30 p.m. Thursday that police had found a “potential witness” to Collins’s death.

“Police are with the individual at this time and there is no threat to the public,” according to the social media post.

Police could not be reached for comment on the identity of the individual or where they were located.

An autopsy confirmed that Collins died from a gunshot wound and the manner of her death was a homicide.
