HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii residents receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will soon have an additional $250 earlier than planned.
Under the new Hawaii Emergency Food Assistance Program (HEFAP), all current SNAP recipients were initially scheduled to receive $250 on their EBT cards by Nov. 14.
On Thursday, Gov. Josh Green announced that the monetary relief will be available by Monday, Nov. 10, four days earlier than scheduled.
The benefits are already appearing in EBT accounts as ‘pending,’ Green said.
SNAP recipients will receive the benefits automatically. No applications are required.
