Aussies have been given their first look at the Qantas plane which will fly non-stop from the east coast all the way to London and New York.
The national carrier said it would start ultra-long-haul services on its delayed Project Sunrise in early 2027 using 12 planes scheduled for delivery late next year.
Qantas placed orders for aircraft which can operate 22-hour commercial flights with Airbus in 2017, leading the manufacturer to add an extra fuel tank to its A350 wide-body planes.
The Flying Kangaroo on Friday shared images of the aircraft after hitting a major milestone at the Airbus manufacturing facility.
The entire airframe – which is essentially the body of the plane - has been joined including the forward, centre and rear fuselage sections.
