Senior Congress leader and Working Committee member Sudip Roy Barman on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the CPI(M), branding it a “cowardly party” and urging the state’s youth to join the Congress to build a strong alternative to the ruling BJP.

Speaking at a sit-in demonstration organised by the frontal wings of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, Roy Barman said the CPI(M) lacked the courage to fight the BJP. “Don’t be offended, my friends in CPI(M), but your party has turned cowardly. It can’t take on the BJP with conviction. The Congress doors are open for all—come, join us and lead from the front to remove BJP from power,” he said.
