Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday said the state government is in talks with Germany and several Middle Eastern countries to create overseas employment opportunities for skilled workers from the state.
Speaking at a toolkit distribution programme for resettled Bru migrants, Dr Saha said Japan has already started recruiting skilled workers from Tripura under the Specified Skilled Workers Scheme. “We have already sent six persons to Japan under a good placement contract, and another batch of four will depart soon. Around 60 others are being trained in Japanese language to help them adapt,” he said.
