BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with an impressive 120-65 victory over Bethany College (NCAA Division III) on Thursday at the Stroh Center.
BGSU maintained only a 25-21 edge near the midway point of the first half, but the Falcons turned it on down the stretch.
During a more than 14-minute stretch that carried into the second half, Bowling Green went on a 57-14 run, giving the hosts a 94-43 lead with 11:25 remaining. The Falcons outpaced the Bison 56-34 in the first half and 64-31 in the second.
BGSU’s Javontae Campbell scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the first 20 minutes of action. He shot 9 of 13 (69.2 percent) from the field and added five steals.
