Sozo Children, a nonprofit based in Birmingham, is celebrating 15 years of providing homes, food and medical care for neglected children in Uganda.

The organization was founded in May 2010 after Suzanne Owens, CEO of Sozo Children, was inspired by the experiences of two young men from her youth group at Asbury United Methodist who traveled to Uganda for mission work.
