BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
As colder weather sets in, FedEx and Operation Warm delivered more than 250 new winter coats to children at Legacy Prep Charter School in Birmingham, bringing extra warmth this holiday season.
Volunteers helped students pick out their favorite colors and sizes, making sure every child left with a smile and a warm coat for the season.
"It's a very humbling experience to (every one)," a volunteer said. "We're here giving kids that might not have a coat or might have shoes that have holes and we're here to provide with them. Most of us have kids, so kids are near and dear to us. And just to see them light up to have a new coat."
FedEx said it is holding dozens of similar events across the country through its FedEx Cares program, donating thousands of coats and shoes to
