Anantnag, Nov 06: A dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon from the Kashmir Valley has received a rare international honour, bringing recognition to the region in the field of hair restoration.

Dr. Ummer Yaseen, Associate Professor at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, has been awarded Fellowship of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS), USA. The fellowship was conferred during a meeting of the ISHRS Board of Governors held in Berlin, Germany.

According to Dr. Yaseen, the fellowship is granted to surgeons who have been long-time members of the society and have contributed to the advancement of hair restoration through academic work, research, and ethical clinical practice.
