Kingston Frontenacs coach Troy Mann’s message to his players after a 3-0 loss in Windsor was to the point Thursday night.
“I told them, ‘There’s not a lot of difference between a rut and a groove,’” Mann said. “I think the message got through to them. They played pretty well, like they’ve played pretty well in recent games, but they don’t have a lot to show for it.”
The loss against the Western Conference leaders was the fifth consecutive defeat for the Frontenacs. In their military camo unis in a tribute to Remembrance Day upcoming, the Kingston Frontenacs fought hard, traded chances all night with a team rife with NHL prospects and kept the game within reach for two periods. It was for naught, however, at least in terms of points and Kingston dropped a game below .500 (7-8-0-1).
