BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -The United States Marine Corps is celebrating its 250th anniversary on Monday, Nov. 10.
Brazos Valley Marine Corps League Det. 1391, a local group of Marine veterans, will be holding its own celebration to commemorate the occasion.
The event, which is open to the public, will start at 11:45 a.m.
“The ceremony will actually begin about that time, so you need to try to be there early,” said retired district judge J.D. Langley. “We simply ask that everyone RSVP on our website, brazosvalley1391.org .”
Lunch and cake will be provided at no cost to attendees of the event.
“We’ll be using a Marine sword to cut it,” Langley added.
