BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Another effect of the government shutdown: more than three dozen major airports in the U.S. could see hundreds to thousands of flights canceled starting Friday.
People may already be feeling anxious about travel, and now the Federal Aviation Administration is reducing flights at some airports by 10% . But the best thing you can do is be prepared.
The FAA says they’re reducing traffic at some airports to protect you.
“We do recognize that the controllers have been working fastidiously for the last five weeks with this huge burden over their head of lack of compensation, and we are starting to see some evidence that that fatigue is building in the system in ways that we feel we need to work towards relieving some of that pressure,” said Bryan Bedford, t
