LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thursday was the first full day NTSB investigators were on the ground in Louisville to investigate Tuesday's deadly UPS cargo jet crash. Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed Thursday that 13 people have now died in the accident.
The NTSB has over 30 people on the ground in Louisville and has already sent the flight data recorder (black box) back to Washington, D.C. Todd Inman, an Owensboro native who's leading the investigation, confirmed they were able to download data from the black box.
"We will do everything we need to to find out what happened," Inman said. "We've reconstructed entire planes that were in the ocean before. The main thing is that we understand this and get answers."
