MOORHEAD — After Drew Nyberg's 87-yard kickoff return touchdown pulled Cromwell-Wright within a touchdown of Fertile-Beltrami in the first quarter on Thursday, Creed Tollefson decided to one-up him.
On the very next kickoff, the Falcons senior found a hole and took off for a 90-yard house call of his own just 16 seconds later.
The play helped flip momentum back in Fertile-Beltrami's favor, with the Falcons going on to a earn a 40-14 win over the Cardinals in a Minnesota IX-Player football state quarterfinal game played at Jim Gotta Stadium.
"It felt amazing," Tollefson said of his big play. "Honestly, it felt like time slowed down. It took forever it felt like. But I'll be honest, it felt awesome."
