GATLINBURG, Tenn. — It's been a pretty great season for the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders, but if you ask some of the players, they say the word of the season has been "sweet."
When asked about the secret ingredient to success, Head Coach Tyler Williams said, "Well, it's cookies, of course."
Cookies baked by Tyler's wife, Kimmy, are a tradition that started back in 2011.
"I believe he had had a coach's wife make them for him when he played. The first few batches were not great," Kimmy said.
And ever since then, Kimmy's recipes have been winners.
"It's our way of giving back," Kimmy said. "These boys work hard, and it's nice to reward them after, you know, they put in so much time."
However, in 2016, the oven stayed shut. The same year, Tyler's team at Seymour didn't win a game, and
