RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Two men are scheduled to be sentenced on open murder charges on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. in connection with a 2024 deadly shooting in a Grand Sierra Resort hotel room on the 15th floor.

Open murder is when a homicide could have been first degree murder, second degree murder or manslaughter.

This week Seth Allan Hegne changed his plea to guilty following the same action by Colton Lee Fagundes.

The property’s security footage shows Hegne and Fagundes knocking on Conor Housden’s door before kicking it open, according to Reno Police.

Officers found Housden in the room with eight gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive is unclear.
