Uttarkashi : Fear is growing in the villages of Uttarakhand after two people died in bear-related incidents within a week. Locals say the forest department is not doing enough to protect them, and they are demanding urgent action.

The latest tragedy happened in Heena village in Uttarkashi, where Ambika (27), wife of Ankit Aswal, lost her life. She had gone to the forest with other women to collect grass, a daily chore for many villagers. Suddenly, a bear hiding in the bushes attacked them. Ambika tried to run, but slipped and fell from a hill, dying on the spot.
