WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita’s St. Mark’s United Methodist Church was the site of a prayer vigil on Thursday night, honoring Travon Stewart, a youth football coach who was shot and killed two weeks ago in a northeast Wichita park.
The shooting happened during a youth football game that drew 200 to 300 people, Wichita police said. Stewart wasn’t directly involved with the game but was at Dr. Glen Dey Park (formerly Grove Park) to sell concessions for a team he coaches.
Despite hundreds of people being nearby, two weeks after Stewart’s death, police haven’t made an arrest or identified a suspect in the case.
Community leaders urge anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that they can do so anonymously . There is a $5,000 reward from Crime Stoppers for information leadin
