Supreme Court on Friday (November 7, 2025) agreed to urgently start hearing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) case on November 11 at 11.15 a.m, and if necessary to continue hearing it on November 12.
A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi agreed to also hear on November 11 a fresh application filed by the State of West Bengal, represented by senior advocate Kapil Sibal, challenging the SIR exercise.
Mr. Sibal and advocates Prashant Bhushan and Neha Rathi, for petitioner Association for Democratic Reforms, said the case goes to the roots of the country’s democratic principles and Aadhaar is not being accepted by electoral authorities.
