LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Construction is underway on a new community in North Las Vegas designed to replace Windsor Park, where shifting ground has damaged homes for decades.

The new Windsor Park will include 93 homes being built near Carey Avenue and West Street. The project aims to relocate families from the original community, which was built for Black families in the 1960s but sits on unstable ground that continues to cause structural damage.

The original Windsor Park community suffers from shifting walls, cracked foundations and failing homes.
