On June 12, Air India's flight from Ahmedabad to London met with an accident.

Supreme Court on Friday said that the pilot cannot be held responsible for the plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad on 25 June. The bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi said that no one in the country believes it was the pilot’s fault. Even the preliminary investigation report does not level any charges against the pilot.

The Supreme Court made these remarks while hearing a petition filed by Pushkar Raj Sabharwal, the 91-year-old father of Sumit Sabharwal, one of the pilots who died in the Ahmedabad plane crash.

Pushkar has sought an independent probe into the crash, in response to which the Court has sought replies from the Centre and the DGCA. The petition will be heard again on 10 Novem
