The program for the upcoming Armistice Day was announced on Nov. 7, 1925. The commemoration included a parade, special exercises at the Vancouver Barracks and the scattering of flowers over the graves of fallen soldiers. “All civic organizations of Vancouver” would be participating in the event.
75 years ago
Frank Youngman, vice president of Crown Zellerbach, announced on Nov. 3, 1950, that construction on a new wood mill in Camas would start “within 10 days.” This was the second stage of construction for the mill. Portland firm L.H. Hoffman received the contract.
50 years ago
Columbian photographers Walt Hicks and Jerry Coughlan won two United Press International photo awards for Washington state in November 1975. Hicks received the “Best Spot News Photo” for capturing
