The body of veteran filmmaker Ashukile Mwakisulu was laid to rest yesterday in his home village of Mwakisulu, under Chief Kilipula in Karonga.
Mwakisulu died on Tuesday at Mwaiwathu Hospital in Blantyre after suffering from a lung condition.
Mwakisulu, who was vice-president of Film Association of Malawi (Fama), rose to fame after co-producing Shemu Joyah’s films The Last Fishing Boat and Road to Sunrise.
Born on July 29, 1976, Mwakisulu is survived by his wife and three children.
