More and more EV charging bays are appearing with each passing year as Brits gradually switch to electric.

But there's a fundamental misunderstanding of these bays which is landing motorists in trouble, bringing the risk of £100 fines.

Drivers have been parking in these bays without charging their cars, mistakenly believing they can be used as ordinary parking bays.

But this blocks the EV charging point for other motorists who need it.

With these charging points still a relatively new addition to supermarkets, retail parks, pubs and service stations it's perhaps not surprising some are getting it wrong
