The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu from November 7 to 9 and over Kerala from November 8 to 10.

In the past 24 hours, isolated heavy rain was recorded in parts of southern interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

IMD defines heavy rain as rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm, very heavy rain as rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm, and extremely heavy rain as rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm.

The IMD reported that night temperatures have dropped below 10°C in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
