New Hanover County officials gave the stamp of approval for a rezoning of more than 100 acres long owned by a local farm family, paving the way for future development .
The New Hanover Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to approve a rezoning request for 108 acres along Blue Clay Road at a meeting on Nov. 3, with commissioner Stephanie Walker dissenting. The property is a portion of an 814-acre industrial parcel owned by the Trask family for nearly a century.
