WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - After months of hinting at a run for New York Governor, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will make it official today.
That’s according to CBS New York (WCBS), which quoted unnamed sources Thursday night. CBS was one of several news organizations to report the Stefanik announcement Thursday evening.
Stefanik has been the north country’s congresswoman for the last 11 years, now serving her sixth term in the House of Representatives.
She has been an outspoken critic of Governor Kathy Hochul.
Hochul also faces a primary challenge from Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado
