CHICAGO (WLS) -- The FAA is cutting flights right now at dozens of airports, including O'Hare and Midway.
Airlines were ordered to cut flight capacity by four percent by 5 a.m. Friday because of the government shutdown.

This comes as close to 80 flights are already canceled this morning at O'Hare...and almost 20 flights are canceled at Midway.
The Federal Aviation Administration is requiring airlines to cut four percent of flights Friday at 40 major airports across the country.
Airlines must cut 10 percent by next Friday, November 14 or face a hefty $75,000 fine per flight over the specified limit.
