The latest cohort of probationary constables were issued with their warrant cards at swearing-in ceremonies across the country yesterday, Thursday, 6 November, 2025.

The 165 officers made the declaration of a constable in front of members of Police Scotland’s Chief Officer Team.

There are 112 males and 53 females in this latest intake, bringing officer establishment to 16,532.

Deputy Chief Constable Bex Smith addressed the new recruits at a ceremony in Police Scotland’s Headquarters, Tulliallan, while Director of Human Resources, Katy Miller welcomed the probationers at a ceremony in Fettes Police Station, Edinburgh.

DCC Smith said: “I thank our new recruits for stepping forward to help safeguard our communities.
