Blimey. Is it that time already? Manchester’s Christmas Markets opened today and for the next six weeks town will be full of the heady aromas of bratwurst and gluhwein and the sound of shoppers being parted from their hard-earned cash.

This year the markets are spread across 10 locations, including a return to Albert Square for the first time since 2019. Outside the town hall there’s also a festive fairground including a 50m Ferris wheel.

Other locations include Piccadilly Gardens , Market Street , Corn Exchange, New Cathedral Street, Cathedral Gardens, St Ann's Square - where there’s a brand new live music stage - Exchange Street, Exchange Square and Albert Square.
