New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that India has started working on a plan to develop indigenous drones with its broader goal of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in the defence sector. Talking about conducting the nuclear tests, Singh said that India is not feared of anyone and whoever wants can carry it out.

“We have started work on swadeshi drones. We don’t wish to depend on other nations for weapons, and the progress in this direction is good,” Singh said in an interview given to Network 18. Singh also claimed that within a year, we will reach a position where we will build our own engines for fighter planes, on Indian soil, by Indian hands.

Singh added that India will also procure additional S-400 missile systems from Russia, which is important for our national security.
