PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- This week on 6abc's Shelter Me , meet Petey!

Petey is an adorable 2-year-old beagle from Main Line Animal Rescue.

Petey is as sweet and affectionate as they come. He loves to cuddle with everyone he meets and gets along great with dogs of all sizes.

Right now, Petey is being fostered and receiving care for heartworm, a condition caused by neglect from his previous owners who kept him outside. Despite his rough start, Petey has been making wonderful progress. His treatments require two shots a month, which are fully covered by Main Line Animal Rescue and he simply needs to be leash-walked while he continues to recover.
