KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Webb School of Knoxville's head varsity football coach has stepped down.

The school said Thursday coach Don Mahoney is leaving the position after three seasons with the team.

"We are deeply grateful for his commitment to our players and the program over the past three seasons. Coach Mahoney’s time at Webb has been marked by dedication, hard work, and care for our student-athletes, and we wish him the very best in his next chapter," the school said.

Mahoney took on the job in 2023 after long-time coach David Meske retired .
