A felon with a history of home invasions is facing several new criminal charges in Oakland County in connection with a series of recent incidents in the Waterford-Pontiac area where residences’ doors were kicked in to gain entry, officials said.
A special investigation dubbed “Operation Kicked-In” resulted in the arrest of Prentice Montrell Slaton, 36, facing 13 felony charges including multiple counts of home invasion, larceny and weapons-related crimes. Many of the break-ins linked to Slaton occurred in early morning hours when no one was home, according to the Waterford Township Police Department.
In one of the incidents, a homeowner reported seeing the suspect — describing him as a black male with long dreads, police said. Home security video footage of the break-in was also provided
