One of Baltimore’s highest-paid city employees, Chief Administrative Officer Faith Leach, will soon be getting a coach.
On Wednesday, the Baltimore City Board of Estimates approved 10 executive coaching sessions for Leach at a cost of $1,800 per hour. The contract is part of a larger $125,000 contract that includes workshops and a retreat for the city’s senior staff.
The coach is Leach’s former boss Rashad Young, who now owns a leadership development firm.
The contract, which was initially reported by Baltimore Brew, has sparked controversy as critics call it cronyism.
“Someone should’ve stood up and said ‘no’,” taxpayer advocate David Williams said. “It’s incredible the Board of Estimates just rubber-stamped this expenditure.”
Leach — who is paid nearly $276,000 annually — abstained
