LOS ANGELES – Police Friday are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a man during a robbery aboard a Metro bus in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to calls of a stabbing at a bus stop at Figueroa and 80th streets at 10:46 pm. Thursday evening where they learned the suspect approached the victim, robbed him of a necklace and stabbed him, according to an LAPD spokesman.

The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes.

The suspect ran away from the scene before officers arrived, Cervantes said.
