Saks Fifth Avenue's popular discount sister store Saks Off Fifth will close as many as 9 stores across the country in 2026, including one busy location in downtown Chicago.

A statement sent to NBC Chicago from a Saks Global spokesperson said the company is set to close the Saks Off Fifth located at 6 State St. in the Loop in June of 2026.

"This closing is part of a larger strategic initiative to optimize our Saks OFF 5TH store presence, through both initiatives to drive performance and elevate the customer experience," the spokesperson said. "We are confident this will better position the Saks OFF 5TH business for long-term success and look forward to continuing to deliver for our customers across our other store locations and online at saksoff5th.com.”
