A majority of Frederick County Public Libraries employees have declared their intention to unionize, submitting a petition to join AFSCME Maryland Council 3 to library leadership on Tuesday.

The push to unionize stems from employees’ desire to participate in the FCPL decision-making process, according to a press release from AFSCME, which is the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees.
