Intel says a former employee downloaded thousands of documents shortly after the company fired him in July, many of them classified as “Top Secret.”
Jinfeng Luo lived in Seattle and had worked as a software developer for Intel since 2014, according to a lawsuit the company filed against him in Washington federal court last week. Intel said it notified Luo of his pending dismissal on July 7, warning him his employment would end July 31.
The company doesn’t say why Luo lost his job but Intel laid off more than 15,000 workers around the world last summer , aiming to cut costs and make the business more efficient.
On July 23, Intel claims, Luo tried to download a file from his work laptop to an external hard drive. Internal company controls prevented that. But five days later, Intel says
