PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two boxes of uncounted ballots were found at a Maricopa County facility on Friday, three days after the election.
Officials say the discovery was made as workers were checking equipment returned from voting locations to the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center. During the inspection, staff found two sealed transport boxes filled with ballots.
According to election officials, poll workers mistakenly placed them inside a drop box instead of returning them on Tuesday night. Both boxes reportedly had tamper-evident seals.
Both transport boxes were then reportedly placed into the custody of a bipartisan team of election staff, and are now being signature-verified for tabulation.
