Larry Pickett Jr. is an Army football player, a proud West Point Cadet and, in the eyes of the man whose life he saved from a fiery car crash, an angel.

On the night of Aug. 29-30, the Pickett family came across a car crashed into a utility pole on Route 9W in Fort Montgomery, just a few miles outside the gates of the U.S. Military Academy. Pickett Jr. and his father, Larry Pickett Sr., rushed over, through downed power lines, to grab the disoriented man out of his car and carry him to safety. Moments later, the car burst into flames.

For his actions, Pickett Jr. was recognized by West Point, numerous organizations and media accounts as a hero.
