THRISSUR: Family courts in the state are swelling with cases due to marital disputes. 39,067 couples in the state are waiting to part ways. As of June 30 this year, 25,856 cases have been filed in family courts in the six months.

The number of people coming to court ready to separate is increasing every year. Among them, there is a sizable number of couples who have not even lived together for a week after marriage.

The highest number of cases (in six months) was filed in the Thiruvananthapuram court - 3,307. While 18,886 cases were filed in the courts in 2020, the number of new cases has reached 25,856 by the end of the first six months of this year.
