It's easy for me, the style writer, to say you shouldn't hedge whether or not you buy something on how much it is (or is not) on sale. But I know how the real world works. I write about denim all the time , and I use every opportunity I get to recommend the fancy stuff . Honestly though, I spend most days in a pair of $40 Wranglers because I also am a regular American trying to get by. Used to be, good denim only cost a few bucks. Now, it's lower quality and costs more money. Reproductions of what used to be American working clothes now easily cost $200 or more. C'est la vie.
