Since the alleged attack that led to Mark Sanchez being arrested -- and charged with misdemeanor battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle (he was later charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury, per USA TODAY Sports) -- we haven't heard if he'd return to the air with Fox Sports as an NFL analyst for the network.
It turns out he won't.
"We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. There will be no further comment at this time," a Fox Sports spokesperson said to multiple outlets on Friday.
Just a couple of days ago, Drew Brees joined Fox as a possible on-air replacement for Sanchez, so it seemed inevitable.
Fox didn't say specifically why Sanchez was no longer with the network, but it would make sense given what he's going through legally.
What was Mark Sanchez's contract with Fox?
We have no official word on that.
What's the latest on the truck driver involved in the alleged Mark Sanchez incident?
Per USA TODAY Sports: Alleged victim Perry Told filed a civil lawsuit saying he had "suffered severe permanent disfigurement" due to the incident.
A police affidavit obtained by USA TODAY Sports alleges that Sanchez, 38, confronted a 69-year-old man who had parked his work truck in the loading dock of a downtown Indianapolis hotel. The truck driver, who told police he feared for his life, pepper-sprayed Sanchez and then stabbed him multiple times, police said.
Sanchez was hospitalized and arrested later the same day. Mears said the truck driver sustained "very severe injuries" in the altercation.
