RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - A Farmville man is celebrating a big win after hitting a $1 million jackpot from a $30 ticket.

The North Carolina Education Lottery has announced that Phillip Faust has won a $1 million prize from a MAX-A-MILLION scratch-off.

Faust said he bought his lucky ticket from Hustle Mart on Highway 121 in Farmville.

“This is perfect timing in my life,” he said. “We can live comfortably now.”

Faust plans to pay his bills and save part of his jackpot to retire later.

He took home $430,508 after required taxes.

According to the release, seventeen $1 million prizes and seven $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
