ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Former Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt said rumors he was in the hospital were “not true.”

In a post on X/Twitter, Richt said, “Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. Not true. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”

Richt suffered a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021.

The 65-year-old was the head coach of the Bulldogs between 2001 and 2015. He had a 145–51 record between the hedges, including two SEC championships and nine bowl wins.

He went on to coach at his alma mater Miami between 2016 and 2018.
